Pretty bad when you have to pay people to buy them…

Mike US OG K they do the same with oil, coal, gas, agriculture and every other industry. they give tax breaks to companies to build buildings in certain states and districts. it’s called incentives. and in ny’s case, it’s a way to combat the rotten pumpkin’s attempts at destroying the incredible headway we’ve made into renewables. so no, it’s not bad at all. as a matter of fact, just yesterday, tesla passed ford in market value and is closing in on gm. so the more people that know they have the option, the more people get attracted to it. and the new school innovators are up against the old money 1st industrial revolution dinosaurs, so they have to fight harder to get into the public’s attention. and that’s what they’re doing. that’s marketing. and it’s working. nytimes.com – Tesla Passes Ford in Market Value as Investors Bet on the Future

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, as am I.
The stock market value is an interesting way to “hawk” a company, a company that needed to sell its clean energy credits to turn a profit last year.
Are we talking investments, or automobiles?
Mike US OG K ok thanks.

Just so you’re up to date, Tesla has surpassed GM by the same market standard.
Understand – I don’t have the zeal for Tesla that some do, I have yet to see anything particularly profound from Elon’s venture, I’m well aware that many do.
Mike US OG K the guy took a huge chunk of the money he made from starting paypal and threw it into an electric car company at the height of the recession when all the other car companies were begging for bailouts. he built an entire infrastructure around it so you can drive anywhere in the country while charging for free. the car is faster off the line than any production car on the road. the car was so safe that it broke consumer reports safety tests and they had to alter their methods specifically for tesla. at the same time, he took the rest of the money he made from paypal and built a space company that, for the first time in human history, is sending reusable rockets to outer space and landing on platforms. meanwhile, his side project was building solar city, the country’s most advanced residential and solar company, the technology of which, coupled with tesla’s powerwalls, now powers entire islands, countries, and municipalities in the united states. the guy is single-handedly shifting a paradigm that has been in place since the early 1900s. dude, seriously, if none of this at all impresses you, then you are the toughest cookie to crack in the history of cookies. and i don’t know about you, but whatever i’ve done in my 40 years on this planet doesn’t come close to touching what his pinky toe has done in the past decade. so yeah, i’m slightly smitten…

He did a considerable amount of what he accomplished on your and my money (on the assumption you’re a US citizen) as well – 4.9 billion that I’m aware of and I’m quite sure there’s more.
Yes, he built a small car company – with plenty of concessions granted him as well, during a time when the government was ripe to grant subsidies to industry.
You might look deeper into the all “bailouts” issue, Ford didn’t take one dime, they asked if they could if they needed it later.
In regards to consumer reports, well I haven’t had much use for them in a long time – their equipment being substandard should give an idea why, though I will grant you nothing had broken it before.
Now, if the car had broken the NHTSBs testing equipment, that would be profound.
As far as infrastructure, I can tell you that it does NOT cover the entire country, and you cannot charge for free just anywhere, in fact the nearest charging station to my home is over 100 miles away, and I’m positive that’s the same for other ares of the country.
When you actually look closer at things, quite often they’re not what you’ve been told, then again I research every commodity I’m in the market for before I make a purchase
You might be surprized to learn that there are automotive market areas where the incentives EXCEED the price of the EVs sold there, and people are still hesitant to buy them.
EVs are unquestionably the nearest/best alternative to fossil fuel vehicles, but there’s plenty of “growing” to be done.
Now, on to Space X, and solar power generation.
Did I miss something? I was under the impression we were discussing Tesla.
