How Blockchain Could Give Us a Smarter Energy Grid
“On an electricity grid, electrons generated from the sun, wind, or other renewable sources are indistinguishable from those generated by fossil fuels. To keep track of how much clean energy is produced, governments around the world have created systems based on tradable certificates.
Problem is, the way we manage these certificates “sucks,” and it’s holding up investment in renewable power, says Jesse Morris, an energy expert at the Rocky Mountain Institute. A new system based on blockchain, the technology at the heart of Bitcoin and other digital currencies, could fix this, he says…”

Instead of metals why not silicon
This might also be applicable to cyber security. Cannot be hacked easily. I think. I have heard of this.
Good on protection
Is theory applicable to setting up the internet.
Old school I think
Anthony Carchia MIT is always 2 or more years ahead of market economy
I remember in star trek tng.. (science fiction, mind you.), the engineering crew use to always mention the term:”pattern buffers”. What these were supposed to be was safeguards to any systems failure on the ship.Even though it’s a fictionalized series….it still presents an idea of block chain technology. With every new advance in our civilization, safeguards are inevitable to assure continuance of further growth and cut down the risk hazard.
Ludwig von something?
Even science fiction yields some fact and theory. All science fiction is ….. A what if scenrio…I remember watching a movie called Forbidden Planet. How some space explorers discovered a fantastic ancient machine… It’s purpose was an engine for the aliens version of the internet. A device that was self maintenance….. It could deliver any request to any part of the planet by pure thought. This movie was made in the 1950s..the modern day internet was decades away. But look at the advancements we’ve made.
