“On Wednesday, France made public its decision to do away with oil and gas production. For the home of the historic Paris Climate Agreement, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Indeed, the move was made in hopes of setting a precedent, encouraging other nations around the world to follow suit.

It’s a great headline, the reality is that it has 2 gaping flaws.
First, this represents 1% of French energy production.
Second, it doesn’t say STOP using fossil fuels. France will continue to consume fossil fuels in its energy mix, it is simply off-shoring the product or refinement.
I’m not sure if that is better for the global environment or not.
