In the next five years? Must be a british understatement. If its at 50% now and growing fast it should be above 50% next year. In five years it could be 60% to 70% in ten years it ougt to be in the 90% range. It will be mainly due to the cost efficiency of solar compared to fossile fules. But 90% or even 100% of annual additions still takes quite some time to make the majority of electricity come from renewables.
Jan-Erik Vinje You know, based on the comments. you’ve left the past week or so, it’s very hard to view you as anything but a pessimist. You should practice optimism every now and then. Not only does it feel good, but it’s also a lot more productive. The more people work toward something, the quicker it happens. Mix in Moores law, demand, and exponential growth, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in under 5 years.
