“Self-driving vehicles delivering groceries in Miami Ford is joining forces with Walmart and Postmates to create a grocery delivery service using self-driving vehicles in Miami, the companies announced Wednesday. Ford has been using Miami as a test bed for its self-driving vehicles since earlier this year. And more recently, the auto giant joined with Postmates…”

William Macdonald That’s the same argument that’s been used since the dawn of the industrial revolution. And what has happened instead? Products and services became more abundant and cheaper. This is just the next step in that process of the past 150 years. With 3D printing making it so houses can cost less than 4k already, and vertical farming and localized aquaponics making food abundant, and instead of buying a car you can just hail a self-driving one when you need it, every aspect of your cost of living will go down. Therefore, with cost of living down, you won’t need to work as much to make money. And with the companies saving up to 60% of their budgets on employees and healthcare and everything that comes with it, they can be taxed, still make infinite amounts more money due to the reduction in costs, and those taxes can be used for a system like Universal Basic Income to cover some of the costs that the constituents might need. This will free up our already overworked workforce to spend more time and freedom to cultivate communities, more time and freedom to nurture their families, more time and freedom to start businesses, and we can get paid to do those things that help build a more balanced culture and society than what we have now. This is not a new idea. There are already pilot programs all over this country as well as the world. Innovation is going to happen. Some people will adapt to it. Some won’t. That’s evolution.

So the next generation will not know how to drive, just hail a government pod. Cant you see this is deevolution? Common core dumbing down students. Out of control vaccinee schedules brain damaging children. Mothers milk replaced with gmo and roundup toxic corn based high glucose corn syrup. … See a pattern here? But why argue with simone
Someone that is begging for their bondage? May you lick the hand that feeds you your universal income, and may your chains rest lightly upon you, we need neither you council nor your arms
William Macdonald yes, they won’t know how to drive because why should they when they dont have to, and instead can be working and innovating and coming up with new creative ideas to design our future world instead? or they can spend that time interacting with their family. or they can spend that time catching up on much needed sleep. or they can spend that time meditating. or they can spend that time eating the breakfast they missed because they had to run out the door. if that’s your idea of de-evolution, I can’t wait to de-evolve. you sure do put a lot of stock on the future of humanity in the simple act of driving a car…
William Macdonald and with all due respect, heres the other thing: by every single measure, eveything on the planet is better than ever before in the entirety of human history.
literally.
statistically there is: less violence, less hunger, less disease, less poverty, less war than any point in human history (look up Steven Pinker and Peter Diamandis for the actual numbers).
so you can keep harping on the same old tired known problems and issues and injustices that comes up every time there’s some new advancement in technology since the advent of the spoon – god knows there’s an audience chomping at the bit for that at all times (and a media industry cashing in on it) – but my job is to continue to focus on how things are getting better.
every day.
every year.
every decade.
every century
than every single one of the days, years, decades, and centuries before.
so have fun preaching your words, and i’ll have fun preaching mine.
William Macdonald And most don’t know how to care for a horse either. See how progress works?
Matt Think Then never use a computer. It put those rooms full of office clerks and typists out of a job. And dial telephones eliminate the need for switchboard operators so don’t use those either.
