India Will Sell Only Electric Cars Within the Next 13 Years
“Every car sold in India from 2030 will be electric, under new government plans that have delighted environmentalists and dismayed the oil industry.
It’s hoped that by ridding India’s roads of petrol and diesel cars in the years ahead, the country will be able to reduce the harmful levels of air pollution that contribute to a staggering 1.2 million deaths per year…”

So I’m assuming their power grid is solar and wind? How do they plan on changing all those electric cars?
]]>Travis Overholser Elon musk has been able to install enough electric superchargers across the U.S. to get from anywhere to anywhere. And he did it in less than 5 years. Alone. India has 15 years to do similar and they’ve already begun. Not to mention, unlike gas pumps, everyone has an electric outlet at home…
]]>….. can they make extension cords longer than 100 meters?
]]>It’s not having a place to plug the car into. It’s how are they going to charge that many cars with their power grid? If your burning coal or oil to supply the power for the electric cars then what are you gaining? Power isn’t magic, it has to come from somewhere.
]]>Manuel Schneider for what?
]]>Travis Overholser India is actually one of the countries leading the way in solar technology and using batteries to store the energy because of its efficiency and dropping price. Not to mention, they have plenty of sun. nytimes.com – India, Once a Coal Goliath, Is Fast Turning Green
]]>Well that’s good if they are working that direction. I’m all for being more efficient and cleaner. Just seems like most people don’t look at the whole picture.
]]>Travis Overholser even a fossil fuel power plant generating the electricity for cars is better than all those individual cars with their various bad tunings and inefficiencies, leaking oil and coolant everywhere.
]]>it will be costly ?
]]>Shakib BD no it won’t. they’re already on par with regular car prices and they will be cheaper than regular cars within 5 years as every car manufacturer begins to produce them. factor in the savings from a decrease in health issues due to less carbon pollution, it’s a win win.
]]>wow appreciate it??
