This system can purify 2000 liters of water per day with solar thermal energy
The Tenkiv Nexus modular renewable energy system can also use the sun’s heat to power anything “for 1/13th the cost of existing solar panels and 1/5th the cost of fossil fuels.”
A startup out of Sacramento, California, recently hit its crowdfunding goal for a unique renewable energy system system that will initially be used for water purification in places such as Asia and Africa, but which can also be used to produce power for other applications as well. Tenkiv’s larger goal is to democratize “sustainable water and energy access” with its modular system, which can not only produce enough power from the heat of the sun (solar thermal technology) to purify water at an affordable cost, but which can also be used to store, distribute, and convert solar thermal energy for use in a number of other ways, especially in areas where infrastructure is poor or nonexistent….

Anyone who invested in that is going to lose their money
joe Bender The same words were said to: The Wright brothers, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and many others.
John Bailey All the people you mentioned got financing from themselves or family and friends before the stock offering . You see a person crowdsources because they cant find anyone who knows anything who will invest with them. Hence crowdsourcing.I’ll bet 90% of the people who gave them money are 20 somethings or people who live in their parents basement. Anyone with some experience knows if a concept is good someone will invest in it and keep all the crowd sourcers out. Likewise with the govt investing in something like solandra where they lost the whole thing.Anybody with any sense would’nt touch that thing with a ten foot pole . Hence they had to go to the govt and suck them in. I’m probably a little older than you with some more experience and I can tell you this concept has failure written all over it. I applaud people who try new things though
joe Bender Well ,I was born in 1955, so even if you are older it wouldn’t be enough to make me an inexperienced whelp. Crowd funding seems to be a valid way to help a project if you wish. ( It’s their money , right) The idea of using solar energy to heat water is not new, many people use similar simple methods here in Florida. The idea to use it to distill water also is not new. But if they have an innovative way of doing it Bravo! We have the countries largest desal plant here in Tampa. It is an electricity hog. It takes a lot of pressure to ram sea water through the densely packed reverse osmosis filters. They also have to be back flushed with fresh water to remove the salt and contaminants. Then the brine has to be disposed of. It is not an elegant or efficient process. Using free energy, in a sun rich climate is an elegant solution. If they have perfected it , great! The trick is , getting past the hurdle of power company lobbyists.
john bailey I too was born in 1955 and have seen many bad investment ideas come my way including one which set me back a few years. After time though you get a feel for what makes sense and what does’nt pass the smell test. These guys have a 50,000 dollar goal and they have exceeded it so offer them some more money and see if they take it .I bet you they will. If they have a new process using the sun great however the physics involved is very well known so i doubt it.Yes crowd funding is a valid way to get money but anyone with some experience knows that if they have to crowd fund to get money then they could’nt get money from anyone close to the project and that should say a lot. i really hope this thing works out but I’m going with this venture will be gone as soon as the money runs out.Cheers
John Bailey He’s a racist and a troll. Take a look at his profile and the comments he left on other posts including ‘Yes but will they be sharia compliant’ on a post I placed in this collection about Norway going 100% electric cars. If he doesn’t explain that like I asked him to, he’ll get blocked and deleted anyway. I wouldn’t engage with him. As you understand, this collection is for people that are solution focused rather than complainers and negative parasites. There are plenty other collections for his type to fester in.
Wasim Muklashy There are always obstacles to overcome with any idea. If this solar water purifier can live up to it’s claimed performance, then I would support Government subsidies, or any funding to help it. Simple, efficient solution’s are what we need.
John Bailey Oh I completely agree with you. It’s that Joe Bender character I was talking about.
Wasim Muklashy They crop up everywhere. The flat Earthers and NASA denier’s in particular drive me crazy. I do a lot of blocking these days. I just don’t have the time to suffer fools.
John Bailey Yes, yes they do. And me too. Not worth the energy.
No
Joe Khumalo Yes

Amazing
oh cool
Great thinking if everyone thought that way we would hmave saved so much more energy and more..
