It will put a lot of people out of work. But also eliminate a back breaking job.
Haha. Yes, John Bailey, it will, but we’re beginning to see systems put into place to combat that as well. Alot of people will lose jobs to automation, but new jobs will take their place, including creating and designing what the robots will do for us. Also gives us more time to spend with family and nurturing hobbies and things we actually like to do. Meanwhile, prices for all our everyday items and needs will drop as automation becomes more efficient, so it’ll cost a lot less to achieve a higher standard of living. As far as income, universal incomes are being toyed with, services for cryptocurrencies are being toyed with, who knows where things will end up, but they’ll definitely be drastically different than they are today. And it’s actually pretty exciting… There was a great piece recently on Singularity Hub that talked about a lot of this. Well worth the read: http://singularityhub.com/2016/08/23/the-end-of-meaningless-jobs-will-unleash-the-worlds-creativity/
